1.27 - Filler

Time speeds by as the family falls into routine. Cadyn has his first birthday and becomes a toddler. He seems to take after his grandmother a lot.

Cami spends most of her time at the salon, trying to make a name for herself and maybe breaking a few hearts in the process.

She hardly spends time with Cadyn. She will only feed him or change him if someone lectures her about being a poor parent. Her excuse is that she wants to be a role model for her son and the best way to do that is to become a successful stylist.  Summer disagrees but there was no reasoning with Cami.
So Zebrina took over the motherly duties. She was making a hefty sum by breeding the horses and dogs but her job left her with tons of free time. Animals have a short attention span so training is a short process every day.  After training, she would spend the rest of the day with Cadyn, feeding him, changing him, and playing with him.
One day at park Cadyn spotted a chipmunk, so Rina caught it and bought a cage for Cadyn's room. Cadyn and Chipper became fast friends.
Summer decided she would take a break from art. Her hands shook with every brushstroke and she could hardly see the small details she wanted to fit in. Instead, she found a new hobby. She converted the basement into a small room filled with gems collected over the years, a few potted plants, and two new wine making machines.
Winter passed and poor Snowy went with it. For now, the family managed to stay civilized but you never know what spring will bring.

1.26 - Feeling Older

Cami stared at the nursery floor. Summer had renovated it shortly after she found out she was going to be a grandparent. It was cute,but it made Cami nervous. She was not ready to be a mother. She thought there would be time for babies later but she wanted to play first. Stay out all night, have an amazing job as a stylist, just live life while she was young. Plus, if she can't handle her relationship with Daniel how can she manage a relationship with a child?

It had been three days since she had first tried to set up a date with Daniel. He always claimed he was busy or that 'something came up' but eventually he gave in.
He stared at her and shifted his weight uncomfortably. His eyes traveled down to her stomach and he gave a slight frown.

"I don't really know why you wanted to see me so badly."
"Uh well you are the father," she said politely. "and I want you to be there for the baby."
She smiled at him. Her mind was buzzing trying to figure out something to say that would get her message across but not scare him off.

"And? Cami I don't want to be father. I have a life and I am not going to sacrifice it over one mistake."
Tears formed in the corners of her eyes.
"Daniel. Please. You don't mean this. You told me you loved me. I know that when you see your baby you will love him too. You can't do this. I need you."
"No. It's not my fault. You could have prevented this just as much as I could have. I do not want this baby. I don't even know why you kept it. Cami I loved sleeping with you. You were so hot but...I never wanted to marry you or something. I enjoyed hanging out with you but I am not ready for a family. I don't know if I even want that."

Tears rolled down Cami's face. Her knees shook and she thought she could feel her heart breaking.

"But why Daniel? Why don't you want me anymore?" she cried.

"I don't want a wife! I don't want a cow for a girlfriend either. Hell, I don't want a girlfriend. I don't want a relationship. I want to live the bachelor life and screw whoever whenever I please." He shouted.
Cami clenched her fists together.

"You selfish son of a bitch! You told me you loved me but really you just wanted to screw? Well screw you!"  Insults flew from her mouth and as she became even more angry.
They screamed at each other about whatever popped into their heads. Babies, sex, cheating, lies, the works. Nothing was off limits and there was no hesitation about airing out their dirty laundry in the middle of a cafe.

"I never want to see you again!" she screamed at him.

"Is that a threat or a promise?"

"I promise I'll break your teeth if you ever try to talk to your son!"
"Rina? Can you please pick me up? My stomach hurts whenever I look at this bastard." She quickly explained the situation before Zebrina agreed and headed over.
"You mother fucker!" Rina screamed at Daniel. Cami had taken a few steps away from the situation and had sat down in the snow. Rina had called Summer who was hanging out with Rosie. They all rushed over when they heard the situation was going sour.

Zebrina hurled more insults at Daniel while Summer and Rosie handled Cami.
"Don't even try and get out of this. You are just a loser who will never get anywhere in life."

Cami grabbed her stomach in pain. "Oh God! Mom! I think he's coming!"

Daniel glanced at Zebrina and began taking a few steps toward Cami.
"Don't you even dare. Get the hell out of here before I make something pop out of you."

Daniel tried to protest but he eventually gave up.
Cami stood up and screamed more. "WE NEED TO GO!" she shouted.

Everyone piled into a cab and headed for the hospital.
The birth seemed to take ages and when it was all over, everyone felt a little older.
But I get a feeling that Cami will need some training in order to make sure baby Cadyn doesn't die before he gets home.
I'm glad you picked him up but that is not proper Outerwear, Cami! Damn it!

1.25 - Fearless

"Bye mom! I'm off to school!"

"Bye Hunny!"
Cami had successfully hidden her pregnancy from her mother for a few weeks now. She was barely showing but it was still a chore. She ate dinner after the rest of the family and would always walk past her mother only when her back was turned.

Most of the time Cami would come home and her mother would be busy  painting so Cami could just run up to her room and take the nap she desperately needed. Today however, Summer was standing outside waiting for Cami.
Summer had gotten a phone call from the school requesting that Cami attend the seminar about teenage parenting after school.

Summer had been puzzled at first but eventually it hit her. Her baby was pregnant.
Summer had failed as a good mother and now her daughter was an unwed teenage mother. Now she had one daughter who ran off to god knows where and another with a baby in her belly.

She stood outside in the snow and began to panic as Cami walked toward her.
"Mom? What's going on?" Cami asked.
"Cami?" Summer paused. She stared at her daughter's swollen belly. The tight dress still fit but it showed the slight bump in her abdomen.
"Are you pregnant?" she asked. Her tone sounded harsh. She had not meant to come off so strong but she couldn't help it.
"Mom! Please don't be mad. I know it was stupid. It's all my fault. Just please don't yell at me."
"Ya. I am pregnant."
 Summer took a deep breathe and fought back tears.
 "It's Daniel's baby. I lied about Drama club. I'm so sorry Momma."
 Cami hung her head and waited for her mother's screams.

Summer clentched her fists  and help back the anger. Anger wouldn't solve anything. Bessie yelled at Summer for everything but that never made Summer a better kid. It just drove her away.
 "I'm sorry too Cami. I should have taught you better. I should have talked to you more."
 "It's not your fault Mom. I made the decision to sleep with him. I wanted to. You couldn't have stopped me.  Mom, please don't cry."

Summer held her daughter in her arms. Maybe she was laying the guilt card a little too hard but at least Cami was getting the message. They were both sorry. They both made mistakes but at least Summer could help Cami through hers.

"Hey Rosie. Thanks for letting me come by to talk to you."
"You listened to me deliver my son. I can listen to anything you need to say."
"It's Cami. She's pregnant! I feel horrible."
"Jessie ran off and I haven't heard from her since she left. She's not even in town anymore. Gosh Rosie, I'm a horrible parent."
"Shut the hell up. You are not a horrible parent. Your kid made a mistake. You can't stop your kids from making mistakes. How else are they supposed to learn?"
"I know but this is such a huge mistake!"
"It's pretty big but it's not the end of the world. Now stop and think about how scared you are. How scared do you think Cami is? Stop worrying about how you could have prevented this and help her get through it. Last thing you want to do is push her away"
"But I am scared Rosie."

"Hide it. You're a parent. You're supposed to be fearless in the face of danger."
"Okay. Thanks Rosie."

"Anytime. Call me anytime you need me okay?"

"Okay"
~~~~
"Daniel. Hi. Um, no I can't come over right now but can you meet me at the cafe? It's time to talk.
**************
Haha. That's my attempt at a cliff hanger. What will happen with Daniel? Will Summer be an adult about this? Will the baby be a fairy? Will it be only one baby? I'm not telling you!
1.24 - Even the Horse Can Tell
 It had been a few weeks since they started their 'relationship'. Everyday after school Cami would ride the bus to Daniel's house and they would just sit and talk.
Okay so it was more grunting than talking but Cami was not complaining.
"It's my birthday soon." she mumbled between kisses. "I want you to meet my mom. I want to make sure she likes you before we get too serious."
Daniel pushed her off. "Serious? Cami we never said we were serious. I like the way things are right now."
"Daniel? I'm sorry. I don't want to pressure you but I really do like you. I can see myself with you for the rest of my life."
"Were just teens." Daniel said firmly. "We don't need to think about marriage. We should just have fun. How about we think about that stuff later?"
He leaned in to kiss her and she kissed him back.
"Okay," she said "but we will talk about it soon ok?"
"Sure. Now let's have some fun."
After the tussle, Cami fell asleep and Daniel lay beside her. Once she was unconscious Daniel slid out of the bed without a word.
Cami stood in the barn. She had been throwing up the past few mornings and lately her tummy seemed to be sticking out more than usual. Her feet hurt if she walked for too long and she felt slower. It seemed pretty obvious what was wrong to her. Even the horse could tell.
It was early in the morning when she got confirmation.
She knocked on Zebrina's door. "Can I talk to you in the kitchen?"
Zebrina looked at her sister. Cami seemed scared. Her head was down and her lip was quivering. "Uh, sure."
Rina sat down but Cami made snacks before joining her at the table.
"Cami? What's wrong?"
Cami stuttered a bit but then took a mouthful of sandwich.
"I'm pregnant." Cami stated.
Zebrina chocked on her food.
"It's Daniel's baby." Cami whispered over Rina's gagging.
"Wait? You're pregnant? Like there is a baby inside of you?"
 "Uh. Yep."
Zebrina stared at the wall in shock.
"How could you get pregnant? Where do you find the time to get pregnant? If you aren't home you're at Drama club. When did you get pregnant?"
"I'm not in Drama club."
 "So you lied and were screwing Daniel this whole time? Why would you do that! You know where babies come from! How can you be that stupid?"
Cami stared off and felt her lip quiver again. She stood up and tried to walk away but Zebrina caught her arm and made her turn around.
"I'm sorry." Cami cried. "Daniel is the only person who really pays me attention. He's nice to me."
"He's using you! All he wanted was to get into your pants. He did the same thing with all his other little girlfriends. You know that!"
"But he treated me different. He doesn't show me off like his latest lay. He respects me so that's why he stays away from me at school. He said he doesn't want people to look at me bad because I'm with him. He wanted to be with me and I wanted to be with him!"
"He cares about me! He really does." She tried to defend herself.
"He's just scared about being committed. He will help me raise the baby. He has to!" She felt her voice shaking.
"I just need help!" she cried. "I'm so sorry! Please don't tell mom. I'll do it I promise but please help me! I need a friend. Rina..."
"Of course I'll help Cami. You did something stupid but I don't want to see you miserable. You're my sister so I'm forced to love you."
They embraced in a big hug and Cami smiled between tears.
"Hi baby. I'm Auntie Rina. Hi!" she cooed to the tiny child.
"It'll be okay Cami. It's not the end of the world. Plus you get to have this cute little baby as a prize."
************************************
Okay, ya I know that was fast. But really I had nothing planned for their teens and then Cami goes and gets herself knocked up. I mean she visited Daniel three times and they would do nothing but make-out and woohoo the whole visit. I have teen risky at 5% but still....I should have watched her closer.
I loved all the faces Rina made. The speech bubbles fit perfectly too!
